KS EXCLUSIVE: Irrational’s Ken Levine announces that he’s not the guy who played Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs

During a recent event showcasing whatever who-cares sequel his studio is working on now, Irrational Games’ Ken Levine took a moment to sit down with Kuribo’s Shoes and answer some important questions.

While other outlets insisted on boring Mr. Levine (and us) by making him talk about something called Bioshock and some big dumb bird robot, we decided to focus on what the people really care about: What it was like working with Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs.

Ken Levine, creator of Bioshock, in 1991's The Silence of the Lambs

Never one to brag about his succesful career as an actor, Ken Levine laughed off our questions about the ways he and Foster were able to keep things light on such a dramatic set, and whether or not he had ever considered making a real dress out of people. After Levine refused to record a really funny voicemail thing for our cell phone (“It leaves a message after the beep or else it gets the hose again!”) we decided that maybe he just doesn’t like to talk about such a dark role.

We then asked Levine if Tony Shalhoub was as crazy in real life as he was on that show, Monk, but he wouldn’t even acknowledge that he had worked with Wisconsin’s greatest hero.

We were perplexed. Here was one of cinema’s greatest actors, and he wouldn’t admit to knowing Tony Shalhoub or Jodie Foster? All he wanted to do was talk about a video game. We decided to give it one last try.

“What about Leo?” we asked, “Surely you remember antagonizing him in Shutter Island? Who could forget Leo? He’s a national treasure!”

Evidently, famous actor Ken Levine can forget Leo, as he once again denied ever having contact with the guy from all those internet memes.

Celebrities, right? They think they own the world with their fabulous lives and private jets and zebras coated in gold, but when a well-respected journal like Kuribo’s Shoes asks them for the time of day (or whether or not they enjoyed playing Sinestro on the Justice League cartoon) they’re suddenly too busy counting their billions of dollars in their Hollywood mansions.

More like Hollyweird, amirite? Ha.

UPDATE: Apparently the actor’s name is Ted Levine, not Ken Levine. The latter is, in fact, a video game developer with no relation to the actor. We regret this minor error, but will not be changing the article to reflect this new information in any way.
